Ms. Shacham has been a collaborator and partner in crime for over to 10 years now! We met in the "Primal Rhythm Tribe", a group directed by NJ area hand drummer and teacher Chuck Wood, and have been rhythm sisters since. We've presenting as a duo since the millenium. Having a musical partner such as she on this crazy path is something I try not to take for granted. Originally from Israel, Yael can be found bouncing between, Brooklyn, NYC and NJ with her djembe, shekere and assortment of eclectic percussion toys.

Yael's mini-bio:

Born in Israel, raised in NJ and now living in Brooklyn, Yael has been banging on pots and pans since she was three years old (that's what her mom told her). She has musically veered in all sorts of directions and eventually made the full circle back to drums. She has studied djembe with such teachers as Sanga-of-the-Valley, originally from Trinidad & Tobego, and M'Bemba Bangoura from Guinea West Africa. She studies shekere with Madeleine Yayodele Nelson from Women of the Calabash. She is currently working on several musical projects as well as at Love Slave Records, a small online label.

Email Yael for more info.
